  1. COMPREHENSIVE AGRICULTURE SUPPORT PROGRAMME (CASP)AND ILIMA-LETSEMA PRESENTATION TO THE SELECT COMMITTEE ON LAND AND MINERAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, FORESTRY AND FISHERIES 28 APRIL 2015

To provide effective agricultural support services and to streamline the provision of services to targeted beneficiaries of land reform’s restitution and redistribution; as well as to other black producers who have acquired land through private means and are engaged in value-adding enterprises domestically, or involved in export. Purpose of CASP 2

  3. Ilima/Letsema - Purpose To fight poverty through increased food production. The programme also focuses on unlocking agricultural production by investing in other strategic programmes that includes the rehabilitation of the irrigation schemes, and other value adding projects.

  11. SOME SUCCESSES? EC: MASIBAMBANE SHEARING SHED • 11 shearing sheds were build in 2013/14 • National Wool Growers Association (NWGA) provides training and market support • Wool value realised increased from R5/kg to R35/kg ( • Extension officers are seconded to work with NWGA
