  5. General Objective To reinforce the need for vigilance among Port Facility staff towards baggage security

  6. Specific Objectives • To test Port Facility staff alertness to baggage left unattended • To practice security staff in the screening of unaccompanied baggage • To enhance the security awareness of threats to the Port Facility • Meet or better the specified compliance benchmark for this drill

  7. Required Attainments • Security staff will be able to: • Detect unaccompanied baggage outside the secure area • Screen unaccompanied baggage for unauthorised items • Ensure the security of unaccompanied baggage after screening to maintain the integrity of the security check

  10. Scenario • Unaccompanied baggage must be security checked before being embarked on board ships • After being cleared, baggage must be handled such that the integrity of the screening is not compromised • Baggage found unattended outside the secure area must be considered a security risk

  11. Controller Task To place two screened suitcases outside the secure baggage area in order to test the vigilance of port facility personnel
