  3. Who does he admire as a pianist? • Vladimir Horowitz • Artur Rubenstein

  4. Schools attended • 1. He began lessons with professor Zhu Ya-Fen at age three • 2. He was admitted into Beijing's central conservatory of music where he studied under professor Zhao Ping-Gou at the age of nine • 3. He moved to Philadelphia and began studying at the Curtis Institute of music between the ages of 14 and 15

  5. Tragedies • Lang Lang said during an interview with CNN: “ The biggest challenge for me is that I was not living with my mom”. Lang Lang’s parents had to live apart for Lang Lang to be able to attend Beijing’s central conservatory of music. Lang Lang had to leave his mother at home in Shenyang, alone, while he and his father travelled to Beijing.

  6. What does he do in his spare time? • In his spare time, Lang Lang attends sports events, hangs out with friends, and watches his favourite teams: LA Lakers and Philadelphia Eagles.
