Treasurer’s Report John Howell • $1,775.09 - Starting Balance Jan 1, 2009 • $ 257.17 – Expenses: $217.17 Coast to Coast Jackets for 2008 NA Volunteers, $40 Mark Rotsky 2008 NA Plaque for Bristol YC • $ 0.22 – Income (interest) • $1,389.14 - Ending Balance 31 Dec 2009 (Rotsky check never cleared)

Class Membership Bill Kneller • J/30 Class Membership Required for One Design (OD) Racing • Dues Optional but encouraged • Dues $50 / Year Owner - $25/Year Associate • Your Dues Support • J/30 Class Website, J/30 Forum and J/30 Marketplace • US Sailing Class OD Membership • J/30 North American Trophies • All Owners in Class Database emailed message with link for membership renewal • Dues can be paid via credit card, PayPal or Check • Online membership renewal encouraged, or print website form and mail it in • SNE District dues - $0 due to surplus from hosting 2008 North Americans • J/30 Forum – big benefit for you and it is free to register and use • Remember J30.org – you can find everything from the menu there

  4. Board of Governor’s Report Bill Kneller • BOG meeting held 1 Oct 2009 at Cedar Point YC before J/30 North Americans • 61 members paid 2009 dues. Annual expenses $150 US Sailing dues, $750 Sailing World Advertising, $700 payback to Gulf coast fleet, and $1600 J/30 NA trophies. • Reports from all districts present (SNE, NNE, Chesapeake, Carolinas, Southeast, Gulf Coast, PNW, Western Great Lakes, Eastern Great Lakes). Some districts reported not enough critical mass of J/30s in one location/area to hold one design events. Some good ideas passed around with further discussion to take place on the forum. • Dates for future J/30 North American Championships • 2010 Marblehead, MA (August 6-8) • 2011 Annapolis, MD (September 16-18) • 2012 New Orleans, LA - date TBD based on forum discussion • Election of Class Officers • Class co-presidents - Bill Kneller (Rhapsody – SNE) & Dave Erwin (Zephyr V2 – Gulf Coast) • Treasurer - Carl Sherter (Fat City – LIS) • Class Measurer - Larry Christy (Big Kahuna – Chesapeake) to continue and transition to Charlie Stoddard (Falcon – SNE). BOG to confirm with vote when transition complete • Other business - The new website for communications and ease of update was discussed by Dave Erwin. He indicated that we need to get inputs from all the district to post stories and relevant material to help promote interest in the class.

J/30 North American Championship Bill Kneller • Marblehead 6 – 8 August hosted by Boston YC • Measurement and Weigh in Thursday 5 August • Great sailing, camaraderie, parties & prizes • Pleasure Cruise to Marblehead - Routes on Forum (~100nm from Newport) • Depart Newport Friday 30 July – plan 50 mile days max • Stops TBD (Cuttyhunk, Marthas Vineyard, Scituate, other spots?) • Cape Cod Canal current – up to 4 kts • Arrive Marblehead Wednesday 4 August • Depart Marblehead Monday 9 August • Some may bring boat up earlier and return later • Who is participating? • Loaner Boats Needed • Consider combining crews to race if you’re on the edge • Link to 2010 North American registration available on J30.org
