    4. WHAT??? Lord Dunmores War was a confrontation over lands west of the Appalachian Mountains. It was between British colonists, with the support of British soldiers and the Virginia and Pennsylvania militias, against Ohio country Indian tribes.1,2,3

    5. WHEN??? 1774 Minor fighting began in the Spring of 1774.1,2,3 First battle was May 3, 1774. British colonists killed 11 Mingo Indians.1,2,3 August, 1774. Pennsylvania Militia destroyed Ohio Indian village.1,2,3 October 10, 1774. Battle of Point Pleasant.1,2,3 Lord Dunmores War ended with defeat of the Ohio country Indian tribes.1,2,3

    7. WHY??? British colonists wanted the land west of the Appalachian Mountains and east of the Mississippi River to settle on.1,2,3 The Ohio country Indian tribes lived there and so they fought for their land.1,2,3

    8. HOW??? 5 regiments of British soldiers fought for the colonists alongside the Virginia and Pennsylvania militias.1,2,3 The Ohio country Indians had multiple Indian war parties to fight the whites with.1,2,3

BATTLE OF POINT PLEASANT August 17741 Pennsylvania militia destroyed seven Mingo villages.1 Logan the Mingo chief sent 1000 warriors to fight.1 October 10, 17741,3 Pennsylvania militia began to fight the Mingo warriors.1 After several hours the Pennsylvania militia drove the Mingo warriors north of the Ohio River.1
