  2. Lesson objectives • To review and reflect upon the work completed on Medieval Realms topic since January. • To research and synthesise material from a range of sources to create a game. • To use art and creativity in History during Big Arts Week.

  3. Your task Your task is to design a set of either Top Trumps cards or memory cards. You must make at least ten in your set as you will using them to play with others in your final History lesson of the year next week. You can work in pairs for this activity The theme of your cards is medieval realms and you can make them covering either key people, places or events from what you have studied since January. You should spend most of this lesson planning what you are going to do and then this week’s homework and next lesson making your cards.

  4. Design your own memory game card Clear title explaining the subject Clear and relevant pictures about the subject Some short, interesting facts about your subject

  6. Design your own top trumps card Clear title explaining the subject You could include an interesting fact about the object of the card Measures could be a mix of facts and judgements An attractive picture

  7. Plan carefully Before you embark on designing your cards, please plan carefully. Use the planning sheets to help you plan your pack of cards. The planning sheets will help you record the following – For top trumps cards - the object of each card, the measurements you have chosen and the individual scores or facts for each card. For memory cards –the object of each card, the images you are going to use and the facts you are going to use. Once you have decided on all this you can then start designing.

  9. Plenary – guess the question!
