This presentation examines social workers' use of knowledge and their need for further education in Dalarna, Sweden. A literature review highlights the operational system BBIC (Children's Needs in Focus) used to assess children's social situations. Through a survey of 200 social workers and managers across 15 municipalities, we explore challenges such as project overload, insufficient support for BBIC implementation, and issues in monitoring children's well-being. The findings underline the critical need for enhanced training to empower social workers in their daily practice.
