This document outlines significant revisions to the ENRP and ASAP protocols, presented by Qiaobing Xie on November 10, 2003. The updates include enhancements to namespace consistency auditing, checksum algorithms for peer verification, and updates to security considerations. Notable changes in ENRP involve internal tracking of checksums and mechanisms to handle mismatched peer presence. For ASAP, the security considerations have been refreshed. It also addresses outstanding issues like multicast security, pending further technological advancements.

Changes made in this revision • ENRP (v06 -> v07): • Added namespace consistency auditing procedure: • Namespace checksum algorithm (TCP-32 checksum over Pool Handle and PE IDs). • Added internal variables to track checksum for each known peers. • ENRP server attaching own checksum when sending out peer presence. • Every time a peer-presence is received, do a checksum comparison. If mismatches, receiver initiate the re-sync process. • Internal checksum variables initiated when down load namespace • Updated the entire Security Considerations section with new text. • Minor editorial changes.
Changes made in this revision (cont.) • ASAP (v07 -> v08) • Updated Security Considerations section with new text • Minor editorial changes.
Changes made in this revision (cont.) • Common Parameters (v04 -> v05) • Added Checksum Parameter TLV definition. • Updated references list.
Remaining issues? • ENRP • Multicast security? (One option is to not support multicast for now and wait for the secure multicast technology becomes stable and mature in IETF, we then add that support to the spec). • ASAP • ??
