Advancing Learning and Skills: LSC National Priorities and Funding Overview

The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) emphasizes three national priorities: creating demand for learning and skills, transforming the FE (Further Education) system to meet that demand, and delivering better skills for better jobs and lives. For the fiscal years 2008/9 and 2010/11, the national funding increased from £11,375m to £12,599m. This includes key allocations for London West, sixth forms, FE, and programs supporting learning for young people and adults, amidst ongoing government changes impacting local authority roles.
