  4. EQUIPMENT HANDOUT • Friday, May 30th from 3:45-5:30 • BRING A LOCK as you will keep all of your equipment in the locker room for the summer. • NO equipment will be allowed to go home

  5. SUMMER WEIGHT LIFTING MONDAY JUNE 9TH TO THURSDAY, JULY 24TH 8TH GRADE • Tuesday/Thursday-10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. 7TH GRADE • Monday/Wednesday-10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. **AT Mentor HS located behind the JTO Stadium NO FORMS ARE REQUIRED FOR WEIGHT LIFTING

  6. TEAM CAMP MEMORIAL TEAM CAMP • BOTH 7TH AND 8TH GRADERS • Monday, July 14, 15, 16 and 17th • At Memorial MS • 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (doors open at 5:30) *NO FORMS ARE REQUIRED **ALL PLAYERS WILL WEAR HELMETS, PRACTICE JERSEYS, SHORTS AND SPIKES TO THE CAMP ***NO COST TO ATTEND

  7. 7-on-7 GAMES 8TH GRADE ONLY • Monday, July 21st (7-on-7 camp) • At Memorial from 6:00-8:00 p.m. 7-ON-7 GAMES at Mentor HS • Tuesday, July 22nd from 3:00-5:00 p.m. • Thursday, July 24th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. • vs. Cleveland Hts., Shore and Ridge

  8. MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP ALL 3 SCHOOLS AT MENTOR HS • July 28th to July 30th • 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. • COST is $20.00 (cash or check made payable to Redline Club, we can’t accept checks made out to Mentor Schools) • Helmets, Practice Jerseys, Shorts and Spikes

  9. TEAM MEETING • Thursday, July 31st at Memorial • 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. • ALL FORMS NEED TO BE TURNED IN AT THIS TIME

  10. CHANGES FROM MYFA • All players will play an offensive and defensive position • There isn’t a specific number of plays that each player must play. Meaning that NOT everyone will play in each game • Must attend all practices • No huddle offense (learning signals) • More competition

  11. CHANGES FROM MYFA • Parents are not allowed on the sideline and cannot coach their son during practices or games

  12. PRACTICES Two-a-day practices • Monday, August 4th - Friday, August 15th • 7:00-12:00 • If your forms are not turned in we cannot allow you to practice until all forms have been turned in

  13. PRACTICES • All players are required to weigh-in by the OHSAA before and after practice • We will have a break in between practices. We encourage you to bring a light snack and water/Gatorade (NO POP)

  14. PRACTICES TYPICAL SCHEDULE • 7:00-7:25-Weigh-ins • 7:25-7:40-Chalk Talk • 7:45-9:30-1st Practice • 9:30-10:00-BREAK • 10:00-10:10-Chalk Talk • 10:15-12:00-2nd Practice • 12:00-Weigh out and go home

  15. PRACTICES AFTERNOON PRACTICES • We will go in the afternoon starting on Monday, August 18th from 4-6 (Monday thru Thursday) • Friday practices will usually go from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

  16. GAMES • Games will be played every Wednesday during the season unless specified on the schedule • Games will start at 4:30 • The games between Shore and Ridge will be at the high school in a double header fashion • 7th grade starting at 5:00 p.m. and 8th grade around 6:30

  17. “B” GAMES • “B” games will be played on Thursday’s during the year • We have 4 “B” games scheduled • These games are for players who don’t get a lot of playing time in the Wednesday games

  18. MIDDLE SCHOOL NIGHT • AS OF RIGHT NOW THEY HAVE NOT SET A DATE FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL NIGHT

  19. GAME DAY DRESS-UP • On games days all players will wear a shirt and tie to school with dress pants • No shorts are allowed • At some point during the season we will have the teams wear their game jerseys to school

  20. HUDL • All game film will be on hudl.com • We want all players to join hudl to watch game film • We need an email to send you an invite • You will then create a log in and password

  21. FILMING GAMES • We are looking for a parent to film the 7th grade football games so we can upload the games to hudl • Game film is a very important part of the teaching process for our players • If interested please see Mr. Jeckel

  22. CELLY • We want all parents to sign up for celly to get important information about Memorial Football • You can join via SMS by texting @Memorial_Football  to  23559

  23. PASTA DINNER • Each year we have a pasta dinner for the football teams and coaches • The cost is usually around $8.00 and is catered by Dino’s • A letter will go out at the beginning of the season • We will have the dinner on October 1st after the Willowick game. • We need parents to volunteer to help with the organization of the dinner • Mrs. Trubisky will be the 8th grade contact parent and we are looking for a 7th grade contact parent. If you are interested please see Mr. Jeckel

  24. CHAIN GANG • We are responsible for providing the chain gang at all home contests • If you are interested in doing the chain gang please see Mr. Walmsley for 8th grade games and Mr. Jeckel for 7th grade games.
