  4. Legislature: The “Bill”Process • Bills Submitted • Cloture • Committees • Testimony • Work Sessions • Fiscal Notes • Aught to pass/Aught not to pass • Appropriations • House • Senate • Governor’s Office

Bills not passed • LD694 – Practitioners would have to disclose every ingredient in vaccines • LD941 - Would prohibit mandatory immunizations • LD774 - Put Pseudoephedrine on prescription only status • LD1406 – Allow hospital pharmacies to provide prescription drugs to skilled nursing facilities that they owned LD694 – Practitioners would have to disclose every ingredient in vaccines.   7. “Carried Over” Bills Bill lives on to fight another day • LD612 – “An Act to Provide Reimbursement for Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services”. • LD1364 – “An Act to Improve the Quality and Reduce the Cost of Health Care”… aka the 340B bill. • LD1501 – “An Act to Reduce Opioid Overprescribing, Overuse and Abuse”.

BILLS PASSED ...and we had our share • LD572 – “An Act to Amend the Laws Governing the Maine Health Data Organization Relating to Retail Pharmacies”. • LD1485 – “An Act to Promote Transparency in the Medicaid Reimbursement Process”. • LD1116 – “An Act to Restore Market-based Competition for Pharmacy Benefit Management Services”.

  9. What’ Next ? ?... Legislator Education re Medication Therapy Management (MTM) • In closing…Kudos Despite all the work… It was a positive year for Pharmacy in Augusta
