  1. HISTORY: Talk about different places we go on holidays and why we go there. Investigate how seaside holidays have changed over time. GEOGRAPHY: Use maps and atlases to locate places we go on holiday. Sort by type: rural. urban, seaside. Compare with historical findings and discuss reasons for change. MUSIC: Rain, Rain, Go Away. Learn a weather associated song to be sung in voices with different moods and accompany it with instruments. Make a new song. Year 1 and Year 2 Curriculum Overview for Summer 2014 R.E: Understanding significance of Easter; Pentecost; Our Church; Mass and investigating other religions. SCIENCE: Investigating light and dark and exploring shadows. Studying how sound travels through the air and is conducted through materials by making telephones. The Seaside ART/DT : Investigating different sculptures from our locality, talking about their materials and what they represent. Design, make and appraise a sculpture to be sited in school. ICT: Use search engines to locate places in the world, research historical aspects of the seaside. Combine text and graphics to make postcards. PE: Dance-exploring Dance from other cultures-India, and repeating and creating sequences to make own dance. Athletics: team exercises involving running, jumping and throwing activities.
