  6. Cami Hastings Hello, I am Cami Hastings. I am the president and founder of A.P.E. I play cello. I also enjoy dance, singing, acting, roller skating, reading, writing, soccer, and softball. I am 11 years old and in 6th grade at Valle Crucis School. My family is made up of my mom, my dad, my 9-year-old brother, and my 3 year old rescue dog Marcella. I love working with A.P.E. because I know that we’re making the world a better place, piece by piece. My motto is “Every penny can make a difference,” as can every kid and person.

My family consists of my mom, my dad, my 9-year old sister, and my 6-year old brother. I am 12 and in 6th grade. A.P.E. is important because it helps other people and living things, not just us.

Ihave been a member of A.P.E. for three years working with myfriends and helping with fundraisers. This year I am Co-Chair of A.P.E.’s graphic design committee. I loveanimals, playing soccer, dancing and reading.

  10. Olivia Waters M-y name is Olivia Waters.  I am vice president of A.P.E.  I enjoy actingdancing, playing soccer, tennis, softball, and participating in many other extra curricular activities.  l like to try new things a lot.  I have found that if you don't try new things you don't get anywhere.  Fund-raising is extremely special to me because I love the feelings of hope that what you did helps,  happiness that you did what you did, and the gain of self confidence to know that what you did could, for me, save a life or even save the very ground that we stand on.  I joined A.P.E. in the summer 2007.  I was new to the area, but I saw a group of girls selling numerous items at Music and the park, which is an activity that goes on at the park every Friday night in the summer.  I started hanging out with one of the girls who is also the founder and currently the president of the organization, Cami Hastings.  Cami and the other girls included me and I began to learn more about this organization.  The credit goes to Cami because she had a passion and she shared that passion with me and all of the other girls.  That passion grew and grew and that is how we got to be where we are today.

  11. Bailey Shuford My name is Bailey Shuford.  I just turned 11 and am in the 5th grade at Valle Crucis school. I'm really into reading and art.  I like to swim, play soft ball and play with my dog Daisy.  I've been a member of A.P.E. for about a year now.  I got interested in A.P.E. because some of my friends were in the club and I thought they were doing some really great things.  Before A.P.E., I volunteered at the Watauga Animal Shelter with my mom.  I became interested in volunteering because both my mom and dad volunteer in the community.  My mom has been a house-leader with Habitat for Humanity and my dad has worked with United Way and Nature Conservancy. I like being a part of A.P.E. because I like the feeling that I'm doing something that is important.
