  2. Situation • He knew she wanted pearl and diamond earrings to go with her pendant, however, he couldn’t find an exact match anywhere and they were having dinner together THAT NIGHT! • A client came in with a problem, it was his wife’s birthday and he had forgotten to get her a gift.

  3. Action I called the store’s local jeweller to confirm availability and timing on pearl earrings. I communicated the timeline and price point provided by the client to the jeweller, who confirmed that it was possible to meet the client’s needs. Since the client had the pendant with him, I arranged to have it couriered to the jeweller to be matched.

  4. Result • The earrings were made within 3 hours of the client’s pendant arriving at the jeweller, on time for him to bring for dinner with his wife. • The earrings were exactly what the client’s wife wanted, and she was thrilled with them.
