  1. Education Showcase GDM FINAL PROJECT By: Austin Georgiades

  2. Client Introduction • Our client was the “ever popular” Education Showcase! The Education Showcase is a place where kids from our school share their accomplishments with our community and friends. This year we helped the best we could to make this event KNOWN about in the community. • Our goal here was to have more than just the parents of the students whose art had been chosen come and enjoy this evening. We wanted the entire community to come on down and have a good time. • Our client was very helpful in all of this. They told us what they wanted and they critiqued our ideas so that we could have the best possible products for them!

  3. Best Ways To Contact Our Client • With our client we had mainly face-to-face contact. However, that was not the case all the time. In fact, several e-mails were sent back and forth between our team manager and our client. • For the most part though, a few of our team members took the time to walk down and chat with the client to discuss several possible issues with our plans or just how to simply make our plans run smoother, as well as how to promote the event in a professional and quick way.

  4. Group Members & Contributions • Elizabeth (Omit Last Name) – Our team manager was Elizabeth and she helped the entire show run smoothly as well as helping us all out with our projects and helping us learn how to make things better. • Timothy (Omit Last Name) – Another Graphic Designer besides myself was Timothy. He and I were the ones to come up with the flyers for around the community and throughout the schools hallways. • Kyler& Brandon – Both Marketers, these two were the ones that were the main points of contact, or people who spoke with our clients, they served their purpose well. • Conner – A marketer AS WELL AS a Graphic Designer, this young man tackled many major things with out client and helped us with many of our ideas for our client. • Austin Georgiades (Me) – As I said, a Graphic Designer by choice, I helped with the artsy part of our work. I helped majorly with our community flyers as well as other things of that manner!

  5. Finished Products! • Here are FOUR of our finished products made while working with this client!

  6. Frustrations • We had some frustrations while deciding where to put certain tables and what groups got those tables. There were times when we couldn’t figure out exactly what to do. We had to have a lot of discussion with our client as well as other groups with clients that needed tables for showcasing their talents and all other sorts of things! • In the end we solved this little dilemma after ripping several hairs out of our heads! Every table in its place and every group at its table! A very happy success none the less!

  7. Successes • The Flyer: We successfully created a Flyer for the community to help spread the word about the event! • Yellow Ribbon Booth: We helped another client as well during all this with their own booth for the event to help spread awareness about suicide prevention! • QR Codes & Map: We created a QR Code that displayed a map of where each booth was on the person’s cellular device. We also had maps for those who could not use their devices and needed to know where to go!

  8. Group Organization • Our group was well organized in the fact that we all knew our place in the group as well as our specific positions and duties. We all were ahead of the game when it came to ideas about what we could do to help all of our clients and we tried our best to make wonderful final products for them. • We maintained our deadlines and tried our hardest to meet them as quickly as we could for our clients happiness. We tried as well to maintain our tempers with each other and sometimes members, of course, reached their limits and blew their tops, but in the end we all remained friendly to one another!

  9. What We Should’ve Done Differently • I believe that the area of our work where we promoted our client could’ve been done with more than just a flyer, but we did not have much time for this because the event took place fairly quick after we received our client. • I would have liked to see some type of huge banner that could have been hung across a street, or maybe pens, mugs, T-shirts, as well as other things of that nature spread around the community as well as the school

  10. My Humble Advice For A Successful Relationship With Your Client • My advice really is not necessary, or at least it shouldn’t be. • Always be polite and courteous to those you work for • Never be upset if one of your ideas is not exactly what the client wants • Do not get angry or snippity towards your client if they think they can make your idea better. • Always remember this ONE thing, it is NOT about your group it is about the client and whether or not they appreciate your help enough to say you did a darn good job!
