Main Idea and Supporting Details: A Student Guide
This guideline assists students in practicing the identification of main ideas (both stated and implied) and supporting details (factual or sensory). It includes comprehensive definitions and modeled responses for clarity. Students can enhance their comprehension by using a hands-on approach, where they are provided with two sheets of paper to be glued together at the bottom, creating flaps on both sides. This engaging activity encourages active learning and reinforces essential reading comprehension skills.
