Summer CourseworkFacilitators’ Responsibilities • Collect & disseminate information on statewide offerings • Provide information to Project Directors on PLC coursework needs • Help locate resources/host a presenter to meet a common need • Work with PLC to make recommendations for Expanded Team Coursework

  13. PLC Team & Administrators’ Responsibilities 1)Recruit/Identify expanded team 2) Negotiate a coursework match for Expanded Team 3) Meet Expanded team coursework planning & registration deadlines 4) Plan for follow-up and information sharing

  14. Expanded Team Members’ Responsibilities 1) Complete PRiSSM Teacher Application by March 31st. 2) Complete PRiSSM Coursework Planning From by April 8th. 3) Register for Summer Coursework by June 15th.

  15. Criteria for Coursework • Science, math, assessment and/or pedagogy professional development • Demonstrated need for the professional development • Must align with state standards & building goals • Must meet recommendations of Building Principal and Facilitator • Need to have a plan for meeting the required 40 hours (some can be carried over into next year)

  16. Deadlines • March 31st • Applications due for Expanded Team • April 8th • Coursework Planning forms due • June 15 • Expanded Team registered for summer courses.

  17. Expanded Team SizeEach Year for 2 Years • Evergreen = 54 teachers • Goldendale = 4-5 teachers (9 total-2 yrs) • Kalama = 3 teachers (6 total for 2 years) • Klickitat = 1 teacher (2 total for 2 years) • North Thurston = 37 teachers • Washougal = 7-8 teachers (15 total-2 yrs)

  18. Leadership Teachers 5 sub days $300/teacher towards registration for summer coursework $1000/teacher stipend Expanded Team 2 sub days $300/teacher towards registration for summer coursework $500/teacher stipend Budget

  19. 2 Sub Days For Expanded Team and Leadership Team is part of your 40 hours of Building Level PLC Work

Questions to Think About • What do you hope to accomplish next year? • Who are you going to target for the Expanded Team & Why? • How are you going to recruit? • Who else needs to be aware of the project? • Who is responsible for making sure applications are turned in by March 31st.? Surveys completed by April 8th? Expanded Team Teachers are registered for summer courses? • How will the principal support the work of the PLC?
