RH SHAPE DETECTIVES We went on a shape hunt around our school environment. Look at the photos we took of the 2D and 3D shapes we found. Star The star in the middle has 5 points. The sides are all straight. Circles Circles have no corners. Circles have one curved side.

  1. RH SHAPE DETECTIVES We went on a shape hunt around our school environment. Look at the photos we took of the 2D and 3D shapes we found.

  2. Star The star in the middle has 5 points. The sides are all straight.

  3. Circles • Circles have no corners. • Circles have one curved side.

  4. We found lots of circles around our school.

  5. Octagon • An Octagon has 8 sides. • It has 8 corners. • The sides are all straight.

  6. Cone • A cone is a 3D shape. • A cone has 2 faces. • It has 1 point. • It has 1 edge around the bottom.

  7. Diamond • A diamond has 4 straight sides. • It has 4 corners.

  8. Square • A square has 4 corners. • It has 4 straight sides.

  9. A square is special because all the sides are the same length.

  10. Triangle • A triangle has 3 corners. • It has 3 straight sides.

  11. Cylinder • A Cylinder has 3 faces. • It has 2 edges.

  12. Cuboid • A cuboid is a 3D shape. • A cuboid has 6 faces. • It has 12 edges.

  13. Sphere • A sphere is a 3D shape. • It has 1 curved face. • It has no edges.

  14. Cube • A cube is a 3D shape. • It has 6 faces. • The faces are all square.

  15. Hexagon • A hexagon has 6 corners. • It has 6 straight sides.

  16. Rectangle • A rectangle has 4 corners. • It has 4 straight sides. • It has 2 long and 2 short sides.
