  2. Brief Description • They work indoors/ outdoors in all types of weather • Physically strenuous, stressful • You are put in life or death situations • They wear scrubs or a uniform

  3. Education/ Training • Have to have a High School Diploma • A Postsecondary (non-degree award) • C.P.R. Certification • Anatomy and physiology in high school

  4. Salary • In 2010 the median pay was $14.60 per hour and $30360 per year

  5. Attributes/ Abilities • You have to work well under pressure. • Need to be able to work in extreme environments • You need to have compassion, interpersonal skills, listing skill, physical strength, problem solving, speaking skills

  6. Job Outlook • By 2020 emt are going to be at a 33% growth expectancy

  7. Duties of a EMT • The Emt’s care for the sick or injured in an emergency setting. • They have to respond to emergency calls • Have to preform medical services and transportation for patient to medical facilities

  8. How do emergency Medical Technician (EMT) use math? • Drug dosage based on weight • Appropriate dosage • Measuring fluids • Conversions
