  2. Courses • We continue to offer core courses in English and Communication Studies: • English 102 & Comm 1 (Fall) • English 7 (Fall) • English 1A & Comm 46 (Spring)

  3. Leadership CIN Student Advisory Board • Students recruited, interviewed and selected new Advisory Board members • GNST 9 (Spring)- new class to support student leadership • SAB organizing events, “Come CIN with Us”, “Stop the Violence Week” & “Anti-Consumerism Week”

  4. Leadership CIN Faculty Members are involved in several campus wide governance committees and initiatives: • Staff Development Coordinator • Presidential Task Force • HSI Grant • Academic Senate

  5. Projects • SAB Led Events • “Making Your Work Matter” panel • “Step into Change: Discovering the College Experience event • End of the Year Celebration

  6. What’s to Come? • Continue offering core courses. New instructor for Eng 7. • Participation in First Year Experience pilot program • Development of Social Justice certificate and AA-T • Grow collaboration with high schools to include summer bridge opportunity

(cont’) • Additional classes: Libs 1, PSCN 25 • GNST 32: Social Justice Leadership to be offered in Fall 2014 • Expand “Making Your Work Matter” into job fair to include internships and summer jobs. • Increase visibility through collaborations with other Chabot programs and community organizations.

Budget • 2011-12 > $29, 337.77* • 2012-13 > $14,000.00 • 2013-14 > $10,000.00 Monies allow CIN to grow/expand: • Offer stipends to new faculty • Offer stipends to Student Advisory Board members • Offer stipends to Learning Assistants in the classroom • Outreach to local High Schools • Continue to build and institutionalize CIN! * Coordinator: $20,187

Budget • 2014-15 • Increase Funding • Restore Coordinator Position • Allocate release time for Librarian Counselor • Librarian (1 CAH) > 2.5 hrs/wk x 17.5 weeks= 43.75hrs • Counselor (1 CAH) > 2.5 hrs/wk x 17.5 weeks= 43.75hrs (Pay rate for overload: $2,053/CAH; used toward adjunct hrs) • Continue to seek other funding sources: • CTE Community Collaborative Grant (Public Services) • Chabot’s Student Equity Plan • Hayward Promise Neighborhood • FYE Funding
