Research Progress Report • Mini Literature Review (研究史) • Introduce/review materials collected to date • What & how many books, articles, papers, sites etc? • What has been written on this topic before? • Who are the major authors/experts? • What are the problems/gaps/flaws in literature? You must explain & justify your theme: how it is different to what has been written before? How does it contribute to knowledge? (テーマの意義） • Problem Consciousness(問題提起）:何を論じるか • List your questions, highlight contradictions or doubts, and present the puzzles you want to solve.

Each citation should be listed in the bibliography using the proper format • If you’re writing your thesis in English, format your thesis like that on the right (with romajifor Japanese entries) • If you’re writing your thesis in Japanese, Japanese entries follow the Japanese format, English entries follow the English format
