  2. Socratic Seminar (10 minutes) • Inner Circle: We will discuss questions #3,4, and 5. • Outer Circle: Take notes on 5 significant comments of inner circle participants. For each comment, explain what the person said and why it was significant. Turn this into the bin. • All prep work for the Socratic Seminar should be turned into the bin.

  9. Group Work • Your group will be assigned a PURPOSE (entertain audience, describe life for a woman, criticize society). • Your group must find as many examples of this purpose as you can. Write these examples on chart paper. • Use QUOTATIONS if possible. All group members need to participate in finding the answersif your group wants to receive full CW credit.

  11. Homework • Read Ch. 16 • Write down additional THREE examples (quotations) from Ch. 15 and Ch. 16 of author’s purpose and explain in your notebooks. This will be collected on Monday in place of a reading quiz. • Socratic Seminar reflection: Write a two-paragraph response in your notebook (each) answering two of the FIVE discussion questions (two paragraphs total). Each response to a question should be supported with a quotation/evidence from the text.
