  11. Course Overview • You will learn about and practice giving four kinds of short presentations to your classmates. You will also feel more confident speaking English in front of other people.

  12. Types of Speeches • informative speech • layout speech • demonstration speech • persuasive product comparison speech

  13. What will I learn? • How to give a presentation with good body posture, eye contact, gestures, and voice inflection. • How to structure a presentation with an introduction, body, and conclusion. • How to use visual aids, such as photos, maps, and graphs.

  24. Four Truths and a Lie Small Group Speaking Activity Get into small groups of 4-5 students. Introduce yourself and read your five sentences. Your classmates will try to guess which sentence is a lie. Each classmate should ask at least one follow-up question.
