    1. March 2/3, 2011 Warm-up: Write down lyrics, your two favorite lines, from a song you really like. (Keep it school-appropriate by using **** for language.) Can you think of a book, poem, speech, or any other medium that has the same message?

    2. Pairing Poems and Songs (Thematically-Linked) Objective: Your ultimate goal is to match the theme of the poem with a song that has a similar theme. First, use the orange literature book to find a poem that you like (or at least partially understand). You can choose the poem first and find a song to match, or you can choose the song first and find a poem to match. Its easier to find the poem fist though. On a colored piece of paper, write the theme at the top. Then write the poem and song lyrics side-by-side on colored paper. Underline specific lines that really represent your theme.
