  3. Why have a Community Kitchen? • Cost • Many hands = lighter work = more food for all • Having fun with friends & good food • Knowing what’s out there • Trying something new • Healthy food for life!

  4. Steps to Start a Community Kitchen? • Step 1: Is there an interest • Step 2: Lay down the rules • Step 3 : Dividing the roles • Step 4: Planning & gathering • Step 5 :Community kitchen

  5. Step 1: is there an interest? • We have a group ( Moms and Mentors) • Flyers • More people to join us • Registration

  6. Step 2: Laying Down the Rules • First meeting • Address questions & concerns • Group agreement For Example:-Who does the dishes?-Rule: We have a list of participants ie. someone washing dishes each week & we all take turns!

  7. Step 3: Dividing the Roles • Leader or Facilitator • Treasurer • Grocery shopper • Child minding • Meal Planner

  8. Step 4: Planning and gathering • Have a planning meeting before every CK or maybe one main one annually? • Know # of people • Gather supplies • Implement individual tasks or roles • Write proposals and get donations
