Building an International Fundraising Program: Essential Conditions for Success

Establishing a successful international fundraising program requires careful consideration of several key factors. First, securing full backing from your institution’s academic and development divisions is crucial, alongside ensuring long-term financial support for regular international initiatives. The commitment of administrators and faculty to travel abroad for fundraising is also necessary. Additionally, having a significant alumni base in foreign countries, along with influential alumni and supporters as spokespeople, can enhance outreach. Lastly, employing a capable development officer with the right skills in international engagement is essential for success.
