Findings from Data • Understanding and being successful in mathematics up through 6th grade is the most powerful predictor of success in algebra/college prep math. • A large percentage of districts are not thoughtful about how students are assigned courses and classes. • Tracking is detrimental to students. • Failing Algebra 1/College Prep Math is detrimental to students. • Multiple years of Algebra 1(two year algebra) is detrimental to students. • Early access and success in Algebra 1/College Prep Math is most beneficial to students future in math.
