  1. Why it's important to monitor children's activities online Monitoring your child’s online activities may seem to be an invasion of their privacy. Yet, it also keeps your child safe from the several dangers of using the internet. Following are the reasons you should monitor the online activity of your children: Cyberbullying A lot of times, kids may find themselves being harassed or trolled by an online bully. Children are very susceptible to the comments or words they hear. Harassing comments may have a lasting negative impact on their minds. Your child may not feel comfortable sharing with you when they are being bullied. Monitoring their activities through parental control apps will help you know if your child is bullying someone else or is being bullied. Sexual Activities Your child may engage in sexual interactions with another person over the internet. They might post or share nude pictures of themselves with another individual or forward pictures of someone else. Your child might also access illegal or harmful forms of pornography that will have a negative impact on their knowledge and well-being.

  2. Online Predators The internet is often used by child predators to find and form friendships with children and then take advantage of their gullibility. You won’t be able to know if your child is talking to someone like that unless you are monitoring them. Illegal Activities Your child may use the internet to plan and participate in illegal or dangerous activities. They might have friends who are persuading them to take part in these activities, or they themselves might be coercing someone else. Keeping track of their online habits will make you aware of such actions. Identifying Friends Having an idea of who your child is interacting with on a regular basis will keep you assured that they are not in bad company. Your child’s friends will have a great influence on his life, so it’s important to make sure he is around the right kind of people. Safeguarding Personal Information Children may end up revealing a lot of personal information to the public. This information may be dangerous as they will help strangers to find them in the real world. Protecting Reputation Your children might post something on the internet that might hurt their reputation in the long run. These may turn up during background checks while applying for a job or

  3. college. You can monitor these to ensure that they are posting only the appropriate things. Identity Theft The information posted by your child can be used by strangers to create counterfeit profiles. These accounts may then be used for harmful or illegal activities that will put your child in trouble. Malware and Viruses It may difficult for your kid to identify malicious websites. They may end up infecting their computer with viruses and malware. You can make them aware of such websites by monitoring their usage. Prevention is always the best action to keep your children safe from the pitfalls of the internet. Help them form a healthy relationship with the online world early on in their life.
