Dates • Monday, October 19, 2009 - Students with 103 semester hours • Tuesday, October 20, 2009 - Students with 93 semester hours • Wednesday, October 21, 2009 - Students with 83 semester hours • Thursday, October 22, 2009 - Students with 70 semester hours • Friday, October 23, 2009 - Students with 62 semester hours • Monday, October 26, 2009 - Students with 53 semester hours • Tuesday, October 27, 2009 - Students with 36 semester hours • Wednesday, October 28, 2009 - Students with 29 semester hours • Thursday, October 29, 2009 - Students with 1 semester hours • Friday, October 30, 2009 - Students with 0 semester hours

  3. How to register • Temple’s Online Registration process • Finding courses – TUcoursesor OWLnet • STHM Course Waiting List • Any student with 12 or more credits is considered a fulltime student and charged as such. • Fulltime students can take up to 17 credits

  4. STHM curriculum information • Pre-requisites and Co-requisites • In general, students take all THM 1000 level courses then 2000, and so forth • Must complete all 1000 & 2000 before Internship I (only THM courses, not University or Business 1000 and 2000 level!) • Must take Capstone with Senior Seminar (4112) • Note: Only students who began STHM after fall 2007 are required to take Capstone • Must have Industry-related hours complete before taking Senior Seminar (4112) • Internship II and Senior Project are taken in final semester (those are the only courses taken that term)

STHM Concentrations • The Four Concentrations • Leisure Management, Sport Management, Destination & Event Management, Hospitality Management • Earning • Two courses within the Concentration option AND a capstone (for those who need it), Internship II, and Senior Project related to the chosen concentration • Declaring • Must declare or it does not appear on the transcript http://sthm.temple.edu/current/minor.html

Minor & Certificates • Uses Free Electives strategically • Appear on transcripts • Minors and certificates appear on the transcript only if the student fulfilled all requirements and declared the minor or certificate. • Please see the appropriate departmental website and/or the Undergraduate Bulletin for more! • Can enhance marketability • May be beneficial in pursuing a graduate degree and/or gaining a position you want

How? • Research Minors and Certificates in the Undergrad Bulletin • Additional information can be found on departmental websites • Go to the department with any follow-up questions after you review. • Must declare– On Departmental website or go to Department • University regulations (from the Undergraduate Bulletin) • Minimum grade in a course taken to fulfill minor requirements is a "C-“ and "C" GPA in the minor in order to have the minor awarded at graduation • See department website or staff for more information re: regulations • Suggested minors: Business or Languages • Suggested Certificates: Business, Languages and Cultural Studies, Geography and Urban Studies (GUS)

StudyingAbroad • When • STHM encourages students to study abroad in summer • How • For general study abroad opportunities, go to International Programs at 200 Tuttleman Learning Center • For information about studying at THM exchange schools (Modul in Vienna, University of Vienna, and Leeds, England), see Janet Distel, STHM Director of Undergraduate Affairs (make an appointment online) • Depending on your curriculum, study abroad may fulfill requirements (inquire about this with an STHM advisor) • An approved summer or semester study abroad program will satisfy the Gen Ed World Society requirement. • Students may substitute courses taken in an approved study abroad experience for one or both of the Core International Studies courses.
