Summer Classes • 2112 – Sophomore Research • 3111 – Program and Special Event Planning • 3213 – Budget & Finance in Sport and Rec • 3313 – Financial Issues in Tourism & Hosp • Also, there will be a THM Gen Ed course offered • Sport and Rec majors should NOT register for this course as it is closely related to Intro to Sport and thus cannot be taken • Also NOTE: International Tourism is now a Fall ONLY class

DARS: The official record of your degree • This is the record used for graduation clearances so if something does not show as complete, you cannot be cleared to graduate • Should be referred to TWICE every semester. • After you register, check your DARS the next day to be sure the courses you chose to fulfill Core or Gen Ed are showing as RG under that requirement • After grades are posted • When a requirement is NOT complete, it looks like this: X ~ CORE-AR (CORE REQUIREMENT FOR THE ARTS) • When a requirement IS complete, it looks like this: • ~ CORESA1 FIRST LEVEL SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY COURSES (SA) • If you think you completed a requirement and it is showing as incomplete, you can talk to an advisor or email dars@temple.edu

Progress Toward Your Degree • Academic and Financial Impact of Repeating courses • Can only earn the credits for a course ONE time • The lowest grade earned in a course is NOT counted in cumulative GPA (but still appears on the transcript) • Financial Aid: students must make “credit progress.” • Students who need to repeat a course should see • Advisor to discuss impact on your progress/academic standing • Student Financial Services to discuss possible financial aid impact

Progress Toward Your Degree • 1.67: Must earn C- (1.67) or better in all required courses… • University Gen Ed or Core • STHM • Fox courses • Minors and certificates • 2.0: Must earn… • Every semester (otherwise will be placed on Academic Warning) • Cumulative (otherwise will be placed on Academic Probation) • In the major and Cumulative to graduate

Curriculum Rules • Gen Ed • Gen Ed – Transfer Students • No more than TWO classes in one department • Two Writing Intensive courses: THM 3196 and another course (ENG 2596 strongly recommended) • World Society (GG): An approved summer or semester study abroad program will satisfy the World Society requirement. Consult an academic advisor for more information. • Core • Core – Transfer Students • 45+ • SA – only specific SA courses fulfill this – consult DARS • International Studies (IS): Students may substitute courses taken in an approved study abroad experience for one or both

Graduation Dates • Make sure your graduation date is accurate (check DARS) • If your date is not what you project, send an email to jarvis.bailey@temple.edu or janet.distel@temple.edu • Your name • Your TU ID number (91xxxxxxx) • Your anticipated graduation date **This is very important - it impacts your financial aid and ability to register for future courses!**
