  4. Interpreting EOG Scores • Last year’s scores • Achievement Levels: • Level 1 - insufficient mastery • Level 2 - inconsistent mastery • Level 3 - performing at mastery & prepared for the next grade • Level 4 - superior mastery beyond expectations for grade level work

  6. Remediation and Retake Procedures Students not making a level III or IV will be required to retake the EOG. Intense remediation will occur between the EOG and EOG retake

HOME PREPARATION Research shows that reading every night in addition to regularly scheduled classroom assignments improves reading ability. • How do you think the author wants you to feel about…? • Based on this passage, what would be the best • thing to do next? • What is the main idea of this passage? • What is the author's main purpose in this passage? • What experience have you had that is most like that of the main character? • The lesson in this story is similar to the lesson learned in which fairy tale?

HOME PREPARATION Study Island • The objectives on Study Island are based on the standard course of study that 3rd-5th grade teachers are using to prepare for the EOG tests. • The blue ribbon on the Math Pretest and Reading Pretest simply means completion of diagnostic test. • Separate objectives only receive a blue ribbon if mastery of 80% or above is achieved. • If less than 80% an arrow coming down will notify them that they need to practice the skill some more by doing the assignment again. Then a blue ribbon may be awarded for success on the second try. There may even be more tries until mastery is achieved. • Objectives can be skipped by moving the check mark.
