About the company • NHC Healthcare, Dickson is a 211 bed long-term health care and rehabilitation center dedicated to improving the quality of life of the patients and residents it serves.  Our services are provided by compassionate caregivers who incorporate a holistic approach to total patient care.  Our professional staff includes nurses, in-house therapists, a full-time nurse-practitioner, social workers, a registered dietitian, and recreational staff.  NHC Healthcare, Dickson is able to provide skilled nursing and rehabilitation services, assisted living services, intermediate care services, respite care and hospice.

Qualifications • ·Credentialed as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) • ·Understand payment systems, including Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payment • ·Advanced knowledge of the current International Classification of Disease coding system for long-term care and its application • ·Thorough knowledge of documentation and legal issues pertaining to health information • ·Demonstrated project management skills to effectively manage multiple concurrent activities, with distinct and competing deadlines • ·Exceptional written and verbal communication skills • ·Experience with computerized data systems • ·Ability to work effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and department heads • ·Ability to assemble and review admission and discharge records • ·Experience providing Raving Fan customer service • ·Empathy for elderly patients and sensitivity to patient and family needs or concerns • ·Work experience in a long-term care and/or rehabilitation center • ·Knowledge of applicable regulations, the survey process, accreditation standards and professional standards of practice appropriate to long-term care • ·Previous supervisory experience • ·The ability to function as part of a multi-disciplinary patient care team

  5. Salary • A health information manager salary averages $57,370. Earnings range from less than $45,000 to more than $80,000 per year annually, based on: • employer or work setting • experience • geographic area • specialization and position.
