Discover the Leaf Beetle: An Insight into Its Life and Impact on Crops
DESCRIPTION
What am I? I am an insect known as a leaf beetle. With six legs and two wings, I take to the skies, producing a faint buzzing sound when disturbed. My diet consists of leaves, flowers, and pollen, but I pose a threat to crops such as green beans and soybeans. Capable of laying 7 dozen eggs under leaves, I am a part of a vast family with around 35,000 species found globally. Predators include stink bugs and tiny parasitic wasps that keep my population in check.
