Established October 2003 • Situated at NOAA’s Coastal Services Center • 2234 South Hobson Av, Charleston, SC • Within the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center • Centrally located to serve the ports of: • Charleston, SC (45 mile loop to visit all the terminals) • Savannah, GA (110 miles, approx. 2 hours each way) • Wilmington, NC (180 miles, 3 to 4 hours drive each way)

  10. Trips to Wilmington • All day trip done only upon request • Usually to adjust barometers or install software • Recruitment rare. • One trip to Moorehead City in support of USNS contract vessel. • (6 hours each way)

Visits and Sea Time • Average 900 ship visits per year • Visit every ship which call to Charleston Terminals • Days sea time teaching aboard training ship EMPIRE STATE • 94 (2014) • 76 (2013) • 68 (2012) • 48 (2011) • 35 (2010) • Goes back to 1998 • I’ve also taught aboard STATE OF MAINE and KENNEDY (nee: ENTERPRISE) for Maine Maritime Academy and Massachusettes Maritime.
