  2. Tests of Conservation Laws • Updated 2006 by L. Wolfenstein, T.Trippe • Biggest changes • CP Violation • Many new CP violating asymmetries in B decays; direct CP violation observed in B0-B0 charge asymmetry ACP(B0→K+π-) = -0.113 ± 0.020 was -0.09 ± 0.04 in 2004 ed. • Neutrino oscillations pinned down, e.g. • Δm12 = (8.0 +0.4 -0.3)×10-5 eV2, was (7.1 +1.2 -0.6)×10-5 eV2 in 2004 ed.

  3. Monte Carlo Particle Numbering Scheme Revised March 2004 by L. Garren (Fermilab), I.G. Knowles (Edinburgh U.), S. Navas (U. Granada), P. Richardson (Durham U.), T. Sjostrand (Lund U.), and T. Trippe (LBNL). Used in several event generators, e.g. HERWIG and PYTHIA/JETSET, and in the /HEPEVT/ standard interface. The general form is a 7digit number: ± n nr nLnq1nq2nq3nJ This encodes information about the particle's spin, flavor content, and internal quantum numbers. For example: B0 511 B+ 521

Computer readable files • Table of Masses, Widths, and PDG Monte Carlo Particle ID Numbers • updated for the 2006 Edition of RPP. • Mass-Width Table with Expanded Content and Improved Format • Updated for 2006, done by COMPAS group • Added quantum numbers I, G, J, P, C, quark content, and quality status. • Included all states in the Review of Particle Physics, whether confirmed or not, with flags to indicate their status. • Format is “comma-separated” so it can be read by C++, Fortran, and Excel or other spreadsheet or database programs.

Palm and other PDA products • A user may create a new product from our computer related files or our new interactive database. • If it appears useful, we put a link on our web pages.  • PDG does not assume responsibility for these products. • If the product is not maintained well, we remove the link. • For example there are Particle Data Book products on a Palm PDA and a Zaurus PDA. • We also link to PDA applications in related fields, like the Heavy Ion Fusion Calculator by T. Lauritsen.

  8. Palm PDA Particle Data Book • Done by Doug Lowder • Contains • physical constants • astrophysical constants • particle properties • Doug has responsibility for upgrading and distribution • PDG points to his web page • Based on RPP 2000 edition • Will drop if not updated soon
