This document outlines general comments and observations regarding the MIRO data review conducted on April 3, 2012. Key issues highlighted include inconsistencies in British and American English across documents, the presence of numerous typos, and the need for clearer unit definitions in the dataset, particularly for start and stop times. Additionally, it addresses calibration issues with the DSB spectrometer, missing information in data formats, and challenges in using MIRO_READ_DATA for data compilation. Access issues with NASAView and IDL during the review period are also noted.

General Comments • Inconsistency with British and American English between documents and within documents. – RID submitted. • Number of typos – already RID. • Need units in dataset.cat – UT for start/stop time. – RID submitted. • DSB spectrometer – no SB calibration information found. (in Inst.cat SSB performance is presented). • If SSB spectra, the rejection should also be noted and available.
Few things • In CTS_LEVEL_3_FORMAT.FMT • Two columns (S0 and S1) are not defined beyond “spare”. • Same as Table 9.4-2 in User Manual? • In User’s Manual: • The channel numbers are defined for all but Band 7 & 8. It is not clear how to derive these if they are variable.
Data • Using MIRO_READ_DATA: Could not get the program to compile • NASAView: can properly view all data columns, though spectra are embedded. • No access to IDL at the time of data review.
