    2. Trainer's Speaking Points: There are many factors that influence whether your audience can “hear” your key messages. To review, you should take into consideration… (read slide bullets). In addition, you may find that some audiences are more responsive to formal channels, but others prefer and respond to informal channels of communication. For instance, the Grand Bois residents may believe you are colluding with Campbell Wells executives if you are conducting informal, closed door meetings with them. In this case, it would make more sense to keep all correspondence with them as formal as possible (for example, through business letters). On the other hand, you may find you are having trouble reaching the elders in the Grand Bois community. In this case, it may make sense to approach them more informally, either through their families or directly in a one-to-one visit.
