  1. HOW DO I CHOOSE? In order to tailor your system to suit your requirements and to assist you with choosing the right products for your application there a few questions to be answered…..

  2. Do you have existing gates that you intend to utilise or would you like us to supply and install? In many instances it is possible to convert existing manually operated gates to automatic (electric) operation. We provide a FREE site survey which will allow us to determine from the outset whether or not this will be possible, it is not always a simple yes or no, and there are often adaptations (for instance removing a section of the post) we can make to enable functionality. Part of the process for consideration is whether the existing gates and posts are in a suitable condition for mounting the gate control opening gear and any accessories onto. For new installations our site survey will determine the sizes and positioning possible at your property.

  3. Will the gates swing or slide open? The answer to the above question for new installations will very much depend on the space available at your property….. Sliding gates require space along the perimeter of your property Swing gates will require space to open into Bi-parting sliding gates (two sliding gates that meet in the middle) are an alternative where you have limited space along the perimeter or to open into – or where the entrance to your property is smaller Our Free site survey will help you determine what is practical

  4. How would you like to control access and egress? When answering this question you need to consider that it is not only you that will need access, think about friends, extended family and of course the postman. Below are details of the options available: Remote Transmitter: Will enable remote access for you and remote holders only. The most popular control mechanism is the remote transmitter. Programmed to the control board that operates your gates, will allow the opening and closing of the gates at the push of a button, from the comfort of your vehicle. Keypads: Will enable remote access for yourself and visitors. They can be programmed to your own security code and can be used in conjunction with….. Intercom Systems: There are various options available, allowing you to hear who is at your gates (visual entry units also available). With an intercom system you will be able to activate your gates to allow entry via a wireless or hard wired phone (whatever your preference). Some systems also make it possible for the intercom to call your mobile so you can allow access to your property from anywhere in the world provided you have phone signal. Time Clocks and Loop Detectors: It is also possible to control the gates via a time clock, you can dictate the time you want to open and close the gates (particularly useful for weekly waste collections if you are in a gated community or for industrial properties). Loop detection systems are buried underground to detect vehicles, allowing automatic egress or as a safety measure to prevent the gates being closed on a vehicle in error..

  5. Above ground or below ground gate openers (motors)? There are two options when it comes to choosing your gate opener: Above Ground: Often a suitable option where the gates are pre-existing or where you do not want to disturb the ground surrounding you gate posts. The motors (openers) are mounted on the inside of the gate leaf itself. Below Ground: The motors are more or less invisible installed underground with only the top of the foundation box visible. Suitable where aesthetics are high on the agenda and where the foundation surrounding the gate posts can be dug out to allow the boxes and motors to be set in place.
