  2. One day ......Our Lord Jesus Christ went into the temple. He looked up and saw the rich putting money in the treasury. • They were putting lots of money, and were keen to let everyone see them. • Then, Jesus saw a very poor widow among the rich. She only put two coins. She was happy to do that and didn’t think how she is going to buy herself dinner that night. • People weren't very impressed by what she gave, but Jesus was. • Our Lord Jesus said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them”.

The people asked, “how can that be, each one of us has put at least one denarii ?!! • They did not know that the Lord Jesus does not look for the amount of money, but He looks at our hearts. • For they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.” (Mark 12:44)

  4. “For the Lord loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

  5. What to give? • Love • Toys • Money • Time • books • Food • Cloth • Water

  6. How did the poor widow give? • With ... • Happiness • Love • Humbleness • Trust Without ... xWorry x Pride

  7. Why do we give? • What we have is from God, not our own • To obey God’s commandment • Today’s verse “The Lord loves a cheerful giver” • To be a good example to others.

  8. Why God wants us to give to one another? Or, Why God doesn’t give the needy himself?

Jesus was more impressed by large amounts of money.                   • Jesus knew the hearts of those that gave.      • Jesus rewards those that obey Him.           • The rich men in the story were humble. • The poor widow put one coin and kept the other one to buy dinner. • Jesus said, "Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in less than all.“ • When you give, you tell God that you trust in Him.
