School of Electronic Engineering Student Pitfalls According to DCU Regulations: • The four year rule - The maximum time a student may spend on a Masters Programme is 4 years - This includes Qualifier years and deferred years due to work or illness-related issues • The one session repeat rule - A module may be attempted for a maximum of 2 years • There are three different Continuous Assessment categories 1 - resit is available for all components of the module 2 - no resit is available for a 100% CA module 3:- no resit is available for the CA component only

School of Electronic Engineering Deferrals and Absences • To defer an entire academic year, complete a ‘Deferral of Academic Year’ (R-32) form • Unexplained absences from exams result in a FAILED ATTEMPT.
