  3. Hospital Background • It is among the best equipped and self-placed organization running the hospital since past thirty years. • The hospital has a team of highly qualified and experienced doctors. • It started from mere ten bed hospital and now holds more than one hundred and fifty beds now. • As to meet their ever increasing database they wanted a computerized system • Its monthly revenue is close to $150000.

  4. Existing System • There is no website for the Hospital presently. • All the work is maintained manually and therefore cases issued there are in document formats. • The entire job is done at reception counter except bill payments. Hence quite often there is a chaos when rush is high. • Tests, treatment prescriptions, cases, bills, appointment template, patient’s and employee’s personal details, patient’s daily reports and other documents are the only medium of communication and management.

  5. Existing System • Maintaining these huge data in documents is certainly not possible after collection of this for few years.

  6. Requirements • User friendly and a multi-user system • A complete view at one sight about beds and staff availability • Efficient user-rights management • Error-free calculations and generation of bills • Appointment management system • Automatic generation of cases • Reports based on all types of transactions

  7. Online services • Hospital Pre-registration • Hospital Staff Recognition • Maps and Directions • Online Bill Pay • Virtual Nursery

  8. Business Values • Intangible Benefits • The new system would speed up the processing • Improve customer satisfaction by allowing online appointments and registration • Error free generation of reports and data. • Allow for secure and efficient storage of data.

  9. Business Values • Tangible Benefits • Estimated $15000 reduction on paper work and file system. • Estimated $250000 due to reduction in staff members • Efficiency will increase by 40%

  10. Constraints • The new system needs to be installed by 1st April 2010. • Need additional $100000 to buy database and other hard wares. • Need to convert all files and paper work into permanent databases. • Training a professional who needs to work at the front and back end of this system.
