  2. Sports Many sports are played in England. A major sport is called rugby. People in England don’t call soccer soccer, they call soccer football! Cricket is popular in the summer time.

  3. Population In England, there are about fifty million people that live there. Most English families have lived in England for many years. Eight out of every ten English people live in cities.

  4. Food Curry is popular in England. Some people enjoy eating meat pies. Other people like mince, which is ground meat and tatties, or potatoes.

  5. Did you know… Fact 1 - Mary Stuart was Queen of Scotland when she was only six days old! Fact 2 - England celebrates New Year’s Day by swimming in a river. Fact 3 - The Roman Empire ruled almost all of England at one time. Fact 4 - Bara brith is a curry cake in a England. Fact 5 - Almost everyonein a England speaks English.

  6. Transportation Buses, cars, and trains are the most common transportation in England. While our cars have the steering wheels on the left, English cars have their steering wheels on the right! There are big subways underground in big cities.
