    2. Background on Timothy His name means honoring God or honored by God. Son of a Greek father and Jewish mother who resided in Lystra. Had been taught the OT scriptures by his mother and grandmother. Came to faith in Christ during Pauls first missionary journey, later joined Paul as a co-worker on his second missionary journey. Pauls right hand man and closest friend.
