  2. Reflection • Rather than using purely written elements, sometimes it is helpful to use graphics for interpretation. When the use of graphics of used or incorporated into interpretation of something, it can be easily understood as it allows people to visualize a message. The use of graphics also leaves under-lying messages up for interpretation. Each person may get a different meaning from viewing an image. • Innovation is worth being examined for many reasons. Innovation is always happening. Constantly new things are invented; medical advancements are being made, technological improvements happen all the time. It is important to look at innovation and gain a deeper understanding of why a certain invention, improvement, or advancement happened; to think more critically about it. • The material that I have chosen to present in my project does not necessarily have a common theme. Most of the images are technological or medical advancements with a few exceptions.

  3. The graphics that I chose are things that, to me, bring to mind innovation. They all represent a creative solution to a problem. When I began to think of things that represent innovation to me, on the of the first things that came to mind was the bullet proof vests for dogs. I just tried to think of things that I had seen before that to me struck me as a creative, needed solution to a problem. • Though my favorite image is the bullet proof vest for dogs, the image that helped me learn about innovation the most was the compass because it made me gain a deeper understanding of how much innovation can affect people and their daily lives and the lasting impact an innovation can have. Although the compass is not necessarily as life changing as other innovations, it represents the fact that innovations can evolve.

  4. Analyzing the images helped me to better understand the images themselves and more about different aspects of innovation. Critically thinking about images allows you to gain valuable information regarding why the image was taken and what message the image was supposed to convey to the audience of which it was intended for. • Genre morphing leaves a lot of interpretation up to the individual choosing how to represent the message that they got when viewing the image. It allows the individual to decide the message that the picture represents to them and in what way they could alter the image to better show that message.
