Entry to the Academy • No University Admissions Index (UAI) required • Recognition of prior learning will be considered • Selection process focuses on the individual’s • enthusiasm • determination • interest • potential and includes an interview at the Academy • Entry requirements: • Certificate III – Year 10 or equivalent industry experience • Diploma – Year 11 or equivalent industry experience • Advanced Diploma – Year 12 or equivalent industry experience

  7. Travel & Tourism The Australian Business Academy’s Travel & Tourism course offers a world of opportunities and could lead to work in some extremely exotic locations. Both the business and leisure travel sectors are constantly growing and the demand for staff with internationally recognised qualifications is also increasing. The Certificate III in Tourism provides the knowledge needed to work competently in the travel industry. Continued study, to gain Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications, will develop the appropriate skills to pursue a management career in travel or tourism.

Graphic Design • The Australian Business Academy has developed a Graphic Design course which provides the skills necessary to enter the Graphic Design Industry by successfully combining the traditional curriculum with the hardware and software of the electronic age. • This Graphic Design course has earned strong recognition within the Industry. • Academy students are increasingly being offered the opportunity to participate in “real” design projects. This offers them first hand experience in: • negotiating a client brief, • developing design concepts, and • carrying the job through to completion, including the print stage.   19. Information Technology IT is one of the most rapidly developing industries in the world today. Technological advances quickly become obsolete, as do IT skills. Organisations are increasingly appreciating the value of using IT efficiently and effectively, and our strong commitment to research and development in this area can only enhance the opportunities available to Academy graduates. The 12 month Diploma of Information Technology (Business Analysis) bridges the gap between the demand of industry and the skills of graduates. Traditional Information Technology skill development is still the backbone of the course which has now been complemented with project planning and management skills. There is also a strong focus on system development, system implementation and data & systems security.

For example, if you like law, but do not wish to be a lawyer, you can become a manager for a law firm, or perhaps run its Public Relations and Media Contact department.
