  1. Summative • Tests/Projects • This should be the bulk of your grade because it measures what you LEARNED and shows how prepared you are to move to the next level. • Retakes are allowed because people learn at different speeds. RETAKES WERE NEVER MEANT TO REPLACE THE WORK DONE DURING THE FORMATIVE PHASE OF LEARNING! Standards-Based Grading Formative Any work done to LEARN the material. Most effective ways to learn: teach someone else Practice The first time you do independent practice should NOT be the day of the test! Correlation between homework and test grades.

  2. New Retake Policy You must have 70% of your work completed PRIOR to taking the test to be eligible to retake. This 70% will be made up of notes, activities AND assignments –assignments will be collected each day. Problems will be weighted according to how much work is involved to complete each one. Problems with answers only when work was needed will be treated as not being done. Late work will be accepted until the day of the test for partial credit. Only COMPLETED assignments will be accepted late.

  3. Please write down your goal(s) for this class this semester. List 3 or 4 specific things that you will do this semester to help reach your goal.

  4. Chapter 5 Test • Scores are in Skyward • You will have until Friday of this week to complete the assignments and “retake” the test –on your own time • Before school • Lunch • After school
