  1. 5 STEPS TO ENSURE FIRE SAFETY IN RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS

  2. INTRODUCTION Fire accidents take place at any place whether in a commercial or in a residential building without providing any prior indications. Fire accidents can be caused both by any natural activity or by human activity. So, it is important to ensure fire protection Ireland by taking right actions. The current post will discuss five most important steps to follow to ensure fire security in residential building.

  3. MAKE A FIRE PROTECTION PLAN The first and foremost step is to formulate a fire protection plan. Visit every corner of the residential building where you want to install fire protection systems and identify the locations where you can install different kinds of fire protection equipment. There are some essential fire protection equipment that every building should have they are fire doors, fire alarms and fire dampers in air-conditioning and ventilation ducts.

  4. HIRE EXPERTS FOR EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION After formulating a fire protection plan and identifying the locations at which the fire equipment will be installed. The next step will be to hire experienced, skilled fire protection experts or engineers to install the fire protection systems. As installing the right kind of equipment at right positions is important and so, hiring any unskilled and unexperienced people can result in increasing the risk of any fire accident.

  5. TRAIN CHILDREN AND RESIDENTS The next step is to train the residents and especially the children and to create awareness among them. Conducting proper training sessions and seminars and informing the children about what they should do when they will hear the sound of any fire alarm or how they will operate the fire doors when required. Apart from training arranging practice sessions is also important for gaining practical experience.

  6. MAKE STRICT RULES Making strict rules to avoid any kind of activity that will block or restrict the action against fire accidents should be made. Rules like no parking of vehicles just in front of any fire protection equipment that are installed on the outer side of residential building like the fire doors, extinguishers and alarms. Also rules should be made to block the residents to enter the fire lanes that will be used by the fire vehicles in case of any fire accidents.

  7. DISPLAY AND SHARE EMERGENCY SERVICE CONTACT NUMBERS The last and final step to ensure fire security is to display the emergency contact numbers at right locations so that it can grab people’s attention. Also sharing the emergency contact numbers to residential groups so that every resident receives the information.
