  1. The 5 Most Common Mistakes In Firestopping

  2. Using An Untested Firestop Product It is always advisable to ensure that all the fire-stopping products are specified and fitted by third party certification. It not only matters about reputation but also saving lives and property. Third party accreditation means that the products are fit for usage and made of a defined quality. It serves as a link about its manufacturing and testing.

  3. Using The Wrong Firestop Material Using the wrong fire-stop material means using the product incorrectly. The foam fillers, also known a s fire foam should only be used in narrow gaps. We often see that bulky foams are sprayed in narrow gaps or penetrations thinking that it will act as an effective means for fire stopping. But this a misconception. Check with the fire stopping companiesabout the products being used and how to use.

  4. Not Installing Firestop A building without a fire-stop is hard to imagine. But often, it is found that there is no fire-stopping material present in the building. The building cannot be effectively compartmentalised without the inclusion of effective fire-stopping materials in the gaps and penetrations. This will lead to the spreading of flames to all the areas creating a massacre.

  5. Not Included In The Design Fire-stopping not included early in the design can lead to severe consequences in the future. If it is included early in the process, it will save both time and money for remedial works later in the future. Our company has years of experience and certification in providing fire-stopping guidelines and contractors in the process.

  6. Poor Installation Correct installation is of utmost importance. Even if the right product with proper specification has been installed in the right place, if it is not installed in the correct way, the whole scheme will fail. Always use fire-stopping companies who have the required skillful, experienced and certified technicians with them.
