  1. What’s happening in Room 201? We will be starting spelling this week. The students will be bringing home a bag of words to practice sorting every night. Their first spelling test with their word sorts will be on Friday. September 17-21 We have been off to a very busy start here in room 201! It has been such a great start to the year though. I have some very special kiddos and I am so glad I get to spend the year with them! This week we will be working on short o words, sequencing events from a story, and action verbs. September 17: Fire Drill September 20: DRA assessment September 21: Planting Broccoli in the garden Friday is Constitution Day and this week is Freedom Week. We will be participating in different activities involving the Constitution and the pledge. For the next two weeks of science, we will be studying our five senses. • This weeks Math focus: • Practicing the rote counting sequence forward and backward from 1 to 30 • - Comparing two quantities • -Developing and analyzing visual images • -Visualizing and retelling the action in an addition situation
