What do I need to Know? Religion and economics play a major role in exploration and colonization.
HOOK: Why do nations explore and create colonies? • What might cause you and your whole family to move to another country? • Write your answer and draw a picture using at least three colors.
What does colony mean? • A group of emigrants or their descendants who settle in a distant territory but remain subject to or closely associated with the parent country.
Why did Europeans establish colonies in North America? • Religious and Economic reasons
